Job Details

We are seeking a motivated Shop Helper / Entry-Level Fabricator with approximately 1–2 years of fabrication or welding experience who is looking to build a long-term career in metal fabrication. This is not a full-time welding position. The successful candidate will support our fabrication team with shop preparation, material handling, and general fabrication tasks while developing the skills necessary to advance into a Fabricator role.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist fabricators with daily shop operations and production activities.
• Grind, deburr, clean, and prepare fabricated parts for assembly and finishing.
• Cut and prepare materials according to work instructions and drawings.
• Load, unload, and move materials throughout the shop safely.
• Operate basic fabrication equipment and hand/power tools.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Support fabrication and assembly projects as needed.
• Follow company safety policies, quality standards, and production schedules.
• Learn fabrication techniques and processes under the guidance of experienced team members.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of fabrication, welding, manufacturing, or related shop experience preferred.
• Basic welding knowledge and skills.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
• Experience using hand tools, grinders, saws, and basic fabrication equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

• Welding school or vocational training.
• Forklift certification.
• Experience reading blueprints and fabrication drawings.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods.
• Ability to work safely around fabrication equipment and machinery.
