About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Payroll Specialist with 3–5 years of experience to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable wearing multiple hats, supporting payroll operations while contributing to HR, accounting, and administrative functions as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Process full-cycle payroll for employees accurately and on time (weekly, bi-weekly, or semi-monthly)
- Maintain payroll records, including wages, deductions, bonuses, and benefits
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
- Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve discrepancies
- Reconcile payroll accounts and assist with audits
- Collaborate with HR on onboarding, offboarding, and employee data updates
- Assist accounting with reporting, journal entries, and financial reconciliations
- Support benefits administration and timekeeping systems
- Step in on various administrative or operational tasks as needed
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of payroll processing experience
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, taxes, and compliance
- Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, UKG, or similar)
- Proficiency in Excel and general accounting principles
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift between tasks effectively
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
