Temporary Accounting Manager (Part-Time)
Location: Eureka, CA
Pay: $40–$50 per hour
Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week
Duration: 3–4 months
Employment Type: Temporary, hourly (on payroll with Express Employment Professionals)
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager (Sr. Staff Accountant level) to provide short-term support during a transition period for a local non-profit. This role focuses on overseeing core accounting functions, month-end close, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and review the accounts payable process
- Coordinate and manage month-end close activities
- Prepare monthly financial statements and board reports
- Perform variance analysis and explain financial results
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
- Improve accounting processes and internal controls
- Support audit preparation and special accounting projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with month-end close and financial statements
- Non-profit or fund accounting experience preferred
- Proficient in accounting software and Excel
- Highly organized and able to work independently
