Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Pay: (Non-Exempt) $28.50-$31.50/hr.
Job Summary: The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, and maintaining payroll records while upholding the core values of service, relationships, and character.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process payroll data, including hours worked, earnings, deductions, and taxes, for all employees in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax filings, wage and hour laws, and Certified Payroll requirements in the State of California
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, including employee information, timesheets, and pay history, in the company's financial information system (currently QuickBooks)
- Address and resolve any payroll-related issues or discrepancies, ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time
- Collaborate with the HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll processes, benefits administration, and financial reporting
- Provide support to the Payroll Manager and the payroll team as needed, contributing to a collaborative and efficient work environment
- Contribute to the success of the company by upholding its core values of service, relationships, and character
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing for construction companies or equivalent, union employees, and prevailing wage employees.
Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, employment unions, and Certified Payroll requirements in the State of California
- Proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks or other financial information systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong problem-solving and time-management skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to meet deadlines
