Job Full Description
Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Overview: We are currently seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician to perform and oversee general maintenance duties for our warehouse facilities and equipment. As directed by the Terminal Manager, you will utilize your general mechanical skills and competencies in electrical and welding work. The primary responsibility is to maintain the terminal and all equipment in a safe and efficient working manner, contributing to the overall success of our operations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and general maintenance procedures for all terminal assets.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a proactive preventive maintenance program for the entire terminal.
- Assist in unloading/loading cargo, monitoring inbound product, and positioning overhead tripping equipment.
- Monitor product flow channels throughout the terminal to minimize product buildup on equipment, including conveyors, hoppers, and elevators.
- Participate in mandated safety training and exercises.
- Train colleagues in terminal maintenance duties and become proficient in the operation of warehouse pay-loaders.
- Read, understand, and implement the facility manual in all matters pertaining to the job.
- Develop a good understanding of the Company Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Acquire a thorough working knowledge of the bagging room, control room, and attendant duties to function as a backup operator.
- Maintain rolling stock and all other warehouse equipment in a clean, safe, and efficient manner.
- Report any equipment problems to the Terminal Manager.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Terminal Manager, including cross-training with other members of the terminal staff and assistance with loading/unloading.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience.
- Welding experience.
- Electrical & Instrumentation experience preferred.
- Ability to obtain First Aid, CPR, Bloodborne Pathogen, and AED certification.
- Eligible for Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).

Essential Job Functions: The position holder must be able to:
- Perform repetitive lifting and carrying (up to 50 lbs. bags).
- Use a shovel to pick up heavy cargo.
- Pick up heavy material (25-50 lbs.).
- Work in confined spaces.
- Work at heights (up to 150 feet).
- Work on feet for several hours, including bending and kneeling.
- Wear respiratory protection in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR Parts 1910 & 1926.
- Wear all types of personal protective equipment, including fall protection.
- Differentiate colors (not be color-blind).
- Work outdoors/indoors under extreme temperatures.
- Work overtime and adjusted hours/days due to schedule changes to fulfill terminal obligations.
