Freight Load Coordinator

 

Location: Distribution Center – Ocala, FL
Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: Pay Rate: $19.00 – $21.00 per hour (based on experience)

Shift Schedule: Full-time; (Monday–Friday), 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Overtime Available: Yes, based on business needs

 


About the Role:
A leading distribution company is seeking a highly organized and motivated Entry-Level Freight Load Coordinator to join our logistics team. This role is essential in coordinating and tracking shipments, ensuring paperwork is accurate, addressing store calls, and managing the efficient movement of outbound freight. The Freight Load Coordinator ensures that all shipments are loaded correctly and on schedule to support replenishment efforts across the region.

 

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or logistics coursework preferred

  • 1–3 years of experience in a warehouse, freight, or logistics coordination role, preferably in a high-volume distribution center

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Proficiency with TMS platforms (e.g., Salesforce-Revenova)

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate outbound freight loading operations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company and safety standards

  • Assign and monitor dock doors, trailers, and loading teams to optimize throughput and reduce delays

  • Communicate with internal teams such as shipping, inventory control, transportation, and operations for efficient load planning

  • Ensure all freight is staged and loaded based on documentation, routing guides, and trailer utilization standards

  • Track, document, and resolve load discrepancies, trailer delays, and documentation errors

  • Utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Transportation Management System (TMS) software for shipment tracking and monitoring

  • Maintain accurate load records, Bills of Lading (BOLs), and shipping documentation

  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure adherence to loading procedures by warehouse associates and drivers

  • Act as a liaison between drivers, third-party carriers, and internal departments

  • Identify and propose process improvements to enhance loading accuracy and efficiency
