Job Title: Porter / Shop Helper – Diesel Mechanic Shop
Location: Tallahassee
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Porter to support daily operations at our diesel mechanic shop. This role is responsible for maintaining shop cleanliness, assisting technicians, and ensuring vehicles and work areas are organized and safe. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the shop, yard, and work areas

Assist diesel technicians with basic tasks as needed (fetching tools, parts, etc.)

Clean and detail vehicles after service or repair

Perform routine tasks such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and parts disposal

Follow all safety procedures and shop policies

Support inventory organization and parts handling

Perform other duties as assigned by shop management
Qualifications

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment

Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus but not required

Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions

Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
