Pump Operations Assistant
We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Pump Operations Assistant to join a growing drilling team based in Tallahassee. In this role, you will work alongside an experienced Pump Operator, assisting with drilling operations, equipment setup, maintenance, and jobsite activities.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, traveling, operating heavy equipment, and learning specialized skills in the drilling industry.
What You'll Do
- Assist the Pump Operator with mud rotary, reverse mud rotary, and reverse air rotary drilling operations.
- Learn to operate and maintain drilling equipment and drill rig components.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down drilling sites.
- Operate or learn to operate equipment such as hydraulic winches, top drives, forklifts, and combination backhoes.
- Assist with heavy lifting and moving equipment as needed.
- Communicate professionally with clients and consultants on job sites.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and help keep equipment organized.
- Assist with painting, scraping, grinding, welding, and other equipment repairs.
- Organize and maintain equipment at the shop.
- Follow all company and jobsite safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Travel to job sites throughout Florida, Alabama, and Georgia.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in construction, drilling, heavy equipment, welding, mechanics, or industrial work is preferred but not required.
- Mechanically inclined with a willingness to learn.
- Comfortable working outdoors and in physically demanding environments.
- Willing and able to travel during the week.
- Comfortable being away from home Monday through Friday.
- Ability to safely operate or learn to operate heavy equipment.
- Ability to lift, move, and work with equipment and tools.
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to follow direction.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn specialized drilling and equipment operation skills.
What We Offer
- $40 per diem while traveling
- Paid drive time
- Full-time, Monday through Friday schedule
- No weekends
- Travel throughout Florida, Alabama, and Georgia

Additional Requirements
This position requires travel, work on active jobsites, and the operation of heavy equipment. The selected candidate must successfully complete all required pre-employment background and drug screening requirements.
