Express Employment Professionals is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic for a Fort Pierce Client.

Position Summary:
The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, including trucks, and fleet vehicles. This role ensures all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines (oil changes, filters, lubrication, etc.)
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and software
- Repair or replace defective components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and hydraulic systems
- Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and operational standards
- Maintain and repair heavy-duty equipment such as garbage trucks
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders
- Complete accurate service records and documentation of repairs
- Respond to emergency breakdowns as needed
- Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical certification in diesel technology preferred
- Proven experience working with diesel engines and heavy equipment
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and air brake systems
- Ability to use diagnostic software and tools
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
Work Environment:
- Shop and field environment
- Exposure to noise, grease, chemicals, and varying weather conditions
- May require overtime, weekends
