Cabinet Builder

Position Summary
The Cabinet Builder is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of woodworking machines and hand tools to fabricate, assemble, repair, and finish aircraft interior components and high-end furniture using honeycomb composite panels. This position requires precision craftsmanship, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and a commitment to producing high-quality work while following company policies and safety standards.
Qualifications
- 1–5 years of cabinetmaking, furniture building, or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1–3 years of experience operating hand tools and power tools
- Mechanical, industrial, or aviation interior experience preferred
- Aviation or aircraft interior experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions
- Strong math skills, including fractions, decimals, ratios, percentages, geometry, area, and volume calculations
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, ERP manufacturing systems, shop floor management software, and timekeeping systems
- High school diploma or GED required
Essential Responsibilities
- Review computer-generated and manual drawings to determine specifications and plan fabrication sequences
- Measure, mark, and lay out materials for cutting and assembly
- Set up and safely operate woodworking equipment, including power saws, drills, and related machinery
- Cut, shape, and trim materials to precise dimensions
- Drill holes for inserts, dowels, pins, and screws
- Glue, fit, clamp, and assemble parts into completed units
- Install fasteners to reinforce assembled components
- Sand, scrape, and prepare surfaces for finishing
- Install hardware including hinges, catches, drawer slides, pulls, and related components
- Support fabrication and repair projects while maintaining exceptional quality and craftsmanship
- Work overtime as needed to meet production schedules and customer deadlines
