Role Description
The IT System Administrator is responsible for the reliable operation, maintenance, and
continuous improvement of the company’s IT systems and workplace environment.
This includes servers, clients, networks, cloud services, and security components. The
role ensures stable, secure, and compliant IT operations in alignment with business
needs and regulatory requirements. A key responsibility is ensuring that all
administrative activities comply with TISAX AL3 and ISO 27001 standards, including
secure configuration, documentation, monitoring, and audit readiness.
Core Responsibilities
1. System Operation & Maintenance
• Operate and maintain Windows and/or Linux server environments
• Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions in Active Directory and related
systems
• Maintain endpoint environments (Windows clients, mobile devices, printers,
peripherals)
• Perform regular system updates, patches, and security hardening
• Ensure stable operation of workplace applications and productivity tools
2. Security & Compliance
• Ensure secure system configurations in alignment with TISAX AL3 and ISO 27001
• Implement and maintain security controls (patching, antivirus, endpoint
protection, logging)
• Support vulnerability management and remediation activities
• Maintain audit-ready documentation for systems, configurations, and changes
• Ensure compliance with identity and access management policies (least
privilege, SoD, secure authentication)
• Support incident response activities and root-cause analysis
3. Network & Connectivity
• Support the operation of network infrastructure (LAN, WLAN, VPN, firewalls)
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues and ensure reliable network performance
• Assist in implementing network security measures and segmentation
• Maintain secure remote access solutions
4. Cloud & Modern Workplace
• Support cloud services (Microsoft 365, Azure, cloud storage, identity services)
• Manage device management platforms (Intune, Autopilot, MDM/MAM)
• Ensure secure configuration and compliance of cloud and endpoint systems
• Support collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
5. Monitoring, Backup & Recovery
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security events
• Maintain backup and restore procedures for servers and clients
• Support disaster recovery processes and documentation
• Ensure data integrity and availability in accordance with compliance
requirements
6. Support & Collaboration
• Provide 2nd-level support for infrastructure-related incidents and service
requests
• Collaborate with IT System Engineers, IT Security, IAM, SAP teams, and business
departments
• Coordinate external service providers and ensure adherence to internal
standards
• Support internal and external audits with technical documentation and evidence
Technical Competencies
• Solid knowledge of Windows and/or Linux server administration
• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP
• Familiarity with endpoint management tools (Intune, SCCM, MDM)
• Understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, VPN)
• Experience with backup, restore, and monitoring tools
• Familiarity with TISAX AL3 and ISO 27001 requirements, including:
• Secure configuration and hardening
• Logging, monitoring, and auditability
• Change and configuration management
• Access control and identity management
• Backup, recovery, and business continuity
Methodological Competencies
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Experience in process documentation and system operation procedures
• Understanding of ITIL processes (incident, change, problem management)
• Ability to prepare clear technical documentation and service reports
