Location: Cicero, IL

Shift: Monday-Friday, 3:30 PM - Midnight
Job Description
A metal fabricating company in Cicero, IL is seeking an experienced Turret Setup/Operator to join their team. The ideal candidate must be capable of setting up and operating CNC Amada Turrets. Candidates must have experience setting up a punch press machine or be a seasoned punch press operator to be considered for this role.
Pay Scale Based on Experience
- $20-24/hour: Experienced Set Up Operator
- $18-20/hour: Experienced Operator that is trainable
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC Amada turret machines, including tool changes, programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Load and unload sheet steel efficiently to maintain production demands.
- Sharpen punches as needed to ensure precision and machine performance.
- Verify that tooling and materials align with job routers, drawings, and written specifications.
- Maintain accurate production records, including 1st piece inspections, parts produced, defective units, and non-conforming items.
- Communicate any shortages, defects, or issues to the QC Inspector or Supervisor.
- Use measurement tools such as calipers, tape measures, and decimal charts to ensure product accuracy.
- Read simple and complex drawings to confirm product identification and requirements.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Turret Setup/Operator required.
- Ability to read and comprehend job instructions, correspondence, and work specifications.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to use measurement tools and work within specified tolerances.
- Physical capability to lift and move 10-50 lbs as required.
- Comfortable standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
- Required to wear safety glasses and safety shoes on the job.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Up to two years of related experience or training is strongly desired.
