Industrial Manufacturing Technician (Swing Shift)
Location: Lexington, KY
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Pay: Competitive + $2.50 Shift Differential
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Industrial Manufacturing Technician to support production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves working with advanced equipment and processes to produce high-quality components in accordance with detailed work order specifications.
The ideal candidate will have prior manufacturing experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to adapt to increasing responsibility while working on a swing shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate complex industrial equipment, including presses and overhead material handling systems
- Perform machine setup, adjustments, and basic troubleshooting
- Inspect parts to ensure compliance with quality and customer specifications
- Identify non-conforming products and communicate issues to appropriate personnel
- Accurately transfer production data using computer systems
- Load, unload, stack, and transport materials using appropriate equipment (hand trucks, forklifts, cranes, etc.)
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
- Assist with training new team members on processes and procedures
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience required
- Experience operating industrial or heavy equipment strongly preferred
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Understanding of standard and metric measurements
- Intermediate math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Familiarity with advanced measurement systems (e.g., CMM or similar) preferred
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) is a plus
- Ability to work effectively within a diverse team environment
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to train on day shift before transitioning to swing shift
- Ability to work safely in an industrial setting and adhere to all workplace safety guidelines
