Job Summary
Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Property Maintenance Technician for a local apartment community in Lexington, Kentucky. This temp-to-hire opportunity is ideal for a skilled maintenance professional who takes pride in delivering quality work, resolving maintenance issues efficiently, and helping maintain a safe and comfortable living environment for residents.
The ideal candidate will have prior property maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage and complete work orders independently. Candidates with their own tools are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to and complete resident work orders in a timely and professional manner
- Troubleshoot and repair common apartment maintenance issues
- Perform general repairs involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and other maintenance areas
- Address maintenance concerns within occupied and vacant apartment units
- Prepare vacant units for new residents through repairs and routine upkeep
- Conduct preventative maintenance throughout the property
- Inspect apartments and common areas for maintenance and safety concerns
- Maintain accurate documentation of completed work orders and repairs
- Prioritize and manage multiple maintenance requests effectively
- Follow all safety procedures and property guidelines
Qualifications
- Previous apartment, property, building, or facility maintenance experience required
- Ability to effectively receive, prioritize, and complete work orders
- Strong knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and general repair techniques
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve apartment maintenance issues
- Own tools preferred
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and manage daily tasks with minimal supervision
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work as needed
