Fire Watch Monitor (Temporary Assignment)
Location: Lexington, KY
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Schedule: Primarily 2nd and 3rd shift with some 1st shift opportunities on weekends. Candidates should contact our office to discuss specific scheduling details and available hours.
Job Summary
Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking dependable and attentive individuals for a Temporary Fire Watch Monitor position in the Lexington area. This role is responsible for conducting routine patrols of a property to monitor for signs of fire and help ensure compliance with state fire watch guidelines.
This is not a traditional security position. Fire Watch Monitors are not responsible for security enforcement, access control, investigations, or other security-related duties. The primary responsibility is to remain alert, conduct scheduled property walks, and immediately notify emergency responders if a fire or fire-related hazard is observed.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct hourly walks throughout the assigned property.
- Monitor for signs of fire, smoke, or other fire-related hazards.
- Remain awake, alert, and attentive throughout the entire shift.
- Follow established fire watch procedures and state guidelines.
- Document required patrols and observations as directed.
- Immediately notify emergency personnel if a fire or emergency situation is observed.
- Maintain consistent vigilance while on duty.
Qualifications
- Must be dependable and punctual.
- Ability to remain alert and attentive for the duration of the shift.
- Capable of walking the property on a routine basis throughout the workday.
- Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
- Reliable transportation preferred.
- Previous fire watch, safety monitoring, or similar experience is helpful but not required.
