2nd Shift Waste Team Member – Automotive Manufacturing
Georgetown, KY | $20.31/hr | Full-Time
Express Employment Professionals is hiring 2nd Shift Waste Team Members for a large automotive manufacturing facility in Georgetown, KY.
This is a hands-on industrial position responsible for collecting, sorting, moving, and preparing scrap, recyclable, non-hazardous, and hazardous waste generated throughout the automotive manufacturing process.
Schedule:
2nd Shift: 5:15 PM–2:00 AM
Pay:
$20.31/hour starting pay
Job Responsibilities
- Run daily routes throughout the facility to collect full waste containers and empty raw-material drums
- Unload and organize waste containers according to waste type
- Transfer waste materials into appropriate containers
- Crush cans and drums using designated equipment
- Properly handle and process aerosol cans
- Collect, box, and store used light bulbs
- Weigh waste containers before storage
- Assist with loading waste containers for shipment
- Maintain clean and organized work areas according to 5S standards
- Follow all safety procedures and participate in required training
- Assist in other areas as needed
Qualifications & Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Dependable with strong attendance and work ethic
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic math skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial/manufacturing environment
- Must be willing and able to complete forklift and tugger training
- Must be able to frequently lift/move up to 50 lbs and occasionally more than 50 lbs
- Must be comfortable wearing all required PPE
Work Environment
This position may involve working near moving mechanical equipment and in indoor/outdoor conditions including heat, cold, wet or humid areas. Employees may also encounter fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals. Required PPE may include protective clothing, gloves, hard hat, respirator, safety shoes, and safety glasses.
Important: This position requires an annual physical for respiratory-capacity testing. The client notes that the work environment may be difficult for individuals with acute allergy conditions.
