General Labor / Heavy Equipment Operator – Winchester, KY
We are seeking a dependable General Laborer with heavy equipment operating experience to support daily operations at a busy recycling and scrap yard facility in Winchester, KY. This is a hands-on position for someone who is self-motivated, comfortable working outdoors, and experienced operating equipment in an industrial, construction, recycling, or similar environment.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, front-end loaders, skid steers, or similar equipment
- Assist with moving, loading, and organizing materials throughout the yard
- Assist with general yard cleanup, including trash removal, sweeping, and mopping
- Help organize materials and perform copper stripping duties
- Move between equipment operation and general labor tasks throughout the shift as needed
- Follow directions and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
- Work independently with minimal supervision or as part of a team
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Work Environment:
- MUST be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Industrial scrap/recycling yard environment
- Frequent walking and movement throughout the yard
- Position includes both equipment operation and hands-on general labor
- Must be comfortable working around heavy machinery and industrial materials
Qualifications:
- Previous heavy equipment operating experience strongly preferred
- Experience operating a forklift, front-end loader, skid steer, or similar equipment
- Ability and willingness to perform physical labor in addition to operating equipment
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Ability to follow directions and transition between tasks efficiently
- Dependable attendance and reliable transportation required
- Previous industrial, recycling, construction, warehouse, or outdoor labor experience is a plus
