Tooling Inventory Coordinator – Temporary
Location: Lexington, KY
Pay: $25.00–$30.00 per hour
Assignment Length: Approximately 6 months (estimated)
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Tooling Inventory Coordinator for a temporary assignment with a manufacturing company in Lexington.
This position will be responsible for tracking and maintaining tooling inventory, monitoring inventory levels, communicating with suppliers, and ensuring necessary tooling is available to support production.
The ideal candidate will have previous inventory management, purchasing, or materials planning experience, along with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
Job Responsibilities

Track tooling inventory, including quantities, usage, and storage locations.

Develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets to track inventory, reorder points, and stocking levels.

Monitor inventory usage and identify potential shortages.

Contact suppliers to request quotes, compare pricing, and confirm lead times.

Follow up on purchase orders and communicate delays or shortages.

Prepare tooling purchase requests and maintain accurate records.

Complete regular inventory counts and investigate discrepancies.

Generate inventory reports and analyze usage trends.

Work closely with production, maintenance, purchasing, and tool room personnel.

Follow company safety procedures and maintain an organized work environment.
Job Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory management, purchasing, materials planning, or a similar position.

Strong Microsoft Excel skills required, including formulas, lookup functions, pivot tables, and data analysis.

Experience creating and maintaining inventory tracking spreadsheets.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Word.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to communicate professionally with suppliers and internal departments.

Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities.

Manufacturing inventory experience preferred.

Knowledge of tooling, tool and die, or stamping processes is a plus, but not required.

High school diploma or GED required; related college education or technical training preferred.

Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
Work Environment
This position involves both computer-based inventory management and work within a manufacturing facility. Candidates should be comfortable entering production areas as needed, following required safety procedures, and occasionally lifting up to 25 lbs.
Compensation
$25.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Temporary assignment estimated at approximately 6 months.
