Job Full Description
Our client, a nonprofit food distribution warehouse, is seeking a Community Engagement Associate to help identify barriers faced by food-insecure individuals, participate in community planning efforts, and recommend solutions to both the organization and its partners. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, able to lead in a team-oriented environment, and possesses strong communication skills—particularly in managing difficult conversations and resolving conflicts. This is a temporary position expected to last six months.
Pay Rate: $25/hour
Schedule: Full-time (M-F 8:00AM-4:30PM), temporary position
Responsibilities:
- Identify client barriers to food access and recommend solutions to both partners and GBFB.
- Participate in community planning and share best practices.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with partners and community stakeholders in an assigned region.
- Identify opportunities for strategic collaborations in underserved communities.
- Serve as a regional expert providing support in order entry, compliance visits, volunteer training, and customer service. Respond to regional needs related to deliveries, grant investments, enabling practices, and more
- Manage agency outreach opportunities, including third-party grant recommendations
- Conduct and document compliance visits in Salesforce; develop corrective action plans and escalate issues as needed
- Evaluate and respond to new member agency requests and make membership recommendations
- Maintain required food safety certification.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Minimum 2 years’ experience in community organizing or network development required

Experience with grant writing, compliance, final reporting, etc. Strongly Preferred.
- Experience with food service or food safety a plus.

Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Salesforce or other CRM tools preferred

Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills

Able to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines

Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle

Multilingual skills are a plus

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work independently or in open office settings
