General Laborer / Pallet Sorter
Job Summary
The General Laborer is responsible for sorting, inspecting, and handling materials within a warehouse or distribution center environment. This role involves sorting wooden pallets, plastic bins, boxes, and other materials while ensuring quality standards and workplace safety requirements are met. The ideal candidate is dependable, physically capable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort and inspect wooden pallets, boxes, plastic bins, and other materials.
- Hand-stack materials safely and efficiently according to company procedures.
- Load and unload materials manually.
- Move pallets, crates, and materials throughout the facility.
- Inspect products and materials to ensure quality standards are met.
- Secure and organize loads for storage and transportation.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Follow all safety policies and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform additional warehouse and general labor duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to lift and carry 50-75 pounds regularly throughout the shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Willingness to work overtime and flexible shifts as needed.
Work Environment
- Warehouse and distribution center setting.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, including heat and cold.
- Exposure to dust, debris, and industrial noise.
- Required use of PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
- Requires good balance, hand-eye coordination, and overall physical stamina.
