Material Handler
Location: Allegan, MI
Pay: $16.00+ (Based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift (40 hours/week)
Employment Type: Full-time
Position Summary
A local company in Allegan is seeking a dependable and experienced Material Handler to support production and warehouse operations. This hands-on role is responsible for receiving incoming materials, preparing outgoing shipments, maintaining organized inventory, and servicing production employees. The ideal candidate will have strong forklift experience, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities

Receive and inspect incoming materials from vendors

Prepare and coordinate outgoing shipments

Service and deliver materials to production employees

Operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently

Handle sheet steel (carbon, aluminum, stainless steel) and structural steel

Maintain and organize inventory within the warehouse

Process all paperwork associated with shipping, receiving, and material movement

Measure and identify materials using tape measures and calipers
-
Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Support additional work areas as needed
Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum 3 years of forklift experience (stand-up and sit-down)

Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material handling experience required

Experience handling sheet steel and structural steel required

Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills

Ability to lift up to 60 lbs consistently

Ability to stand for long periods of time

Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

Ability to multitask and stay on task
