Part Finishing Technician – Plastic Manufacturing | $18–$20/hr | 1st Shift

A clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility is hiring a Part Finishing Technician to help complete high-quality molded plastic parts. This is a hands-on production role where you will trim, sand, polish, and inspect molded urethane components to meet quality standards.

This position works with hand tools and finishing equipment to prepare parts used in custom display and training products. Candidates who enjoy detail-oriented work, light manufacturing, and quality inspection tend to do well in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Remove flash, parting lines, and excess material from molded urethane plastic parts using hand tools and scrapers
• Sand parts using various grits and methods to achieve required surface finish
• Polish and buff parts to cosmetic or functional specifications
• Visually inspect parts for surface defects such as bubbles, voids, scratches, or deformation
• Handle parts carefully to prevent damage, distortion, or contamination
• Maintain consistent quality across short-run and custom production work
• Keep work area clean and organized; properly store parts between operations
• Adhere to safety procedures, including PPE use and dust control
• Communicate issues or defects to supervisors or quality personnel
• Support production flow by meeting schedule and throughput expectations

Requirements for Parts Finishing Technician

• Similar work experience highly preferred, but not required
• Ability to use hand tools such as scrapers, sanders, and polishing tools to finish plastic parts
• Comfortable performing detailed, repetitive work while maintaining consistent quality
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify surface defects such as scratches, bubbles, or imperfections
• Ability to follow written instructions and quality standards
• Ability to handle parts carefully to prevent damage or contamination
• Basic understanding of manufacturing or production environments preferred
