Job Posting: Accounts Receivable Specialist

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a detail-driven and proactive Accounts Receivable Specialist to join a dynamic team in Shakopee. This position plays a crucial role in managing the flow of incoming funds, customer accounts, and financial records. You’ll also be cross-trained to support phone coverage and order entry when needed — so flexibility and a team-first attitude are a must.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Tasks:

• Enter customer/dealer credit card receipts

• Prepare and reconcile ACH (Automated Clearing House) transactions

• Reconcile bulk plant storage facilities

• Prepare daily bank deposits

• Enter both paper and electronic payments into accounting software

• Maintain and reconcile the tax checking account

• File and securely destroy confidential financial documents

Weekly Tasks:

• Send customer account statements

• Make collection calls and follow-ups

• Reconcile discrepancies in customer and general accounts

• Submit state and federal payroll taxes

Monthly Tasks:

• Prepare and submit sales tax filings

• File gas and special fuels tax reports

• Prepare monthly A/R records for accountants

• Continue statement distribution and collection efforts

• Reconcile any ongoing account discrepancies

Quarterly Tasks:

• Prepare and submit payroll and unemployment tax filings

• File blender’s credits and other quarterly reports

• Reconcile customer and general accounts

Year-End Tasks:

• Prepare complete A/R bookkeeping documentation for accountants

Additional Duties:

• Answer incoming phone calls and assist with order entry when needed

• Respond to customer inquiries professionally and efficiently

Qualifications:

• Experience in accounts receivable or general accounting

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

• Strong organizational and reconciliation skills

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

• Comfortable with multi-tasking and shifting priorities

• Clear communication and professionalism with both internal teams and external clients
