Maintain and repair public infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems

Operate heavy machinery and equipment such as backhoes, loaders, dump trucks, and street sweepers

Perform street maintenance tasks such as paving, patching, striping, and snow removal

Install and repair traffic signs, signals, and streetlights

Maintain public buildings, parks, and recreational facilities

Perform landscaping, tree trimming, and groundskeeping duties on city property

Assist with water and sewer system maintenance, including pipe repair and hydrant flushing

Conduct inspections to identify and report infrastructure issues

Follow safety procedures and regulatory guidelines for public works operations

Respond to emergency calls related to weather events, water main breaks, or road hazards

Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment operated

Provide customer service and information to residents regarding public works issues

Support recycling, waste collection, and environmental compliance initiatives

High school diploma or GED
-
Valid driver’s license
-
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – Class A or B (required or must be obtained)

Experience in construction, maintenance, or public works (preferred or required)

Ability to operate heavy machinery and power tools

Knowledge of basic construction, street, utility, or facility maintenance

Familiarity with traffic control and safety procedures

Ability to read maps, blueprints, and work orders

Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor

Willingness to work in all weather conditions

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Basic math and record-keeping abilities
