Job Full Description
Express Employment is hiring for Sub-arc welders for a manufacturing plant in Hattiesburg, MS.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate submerged arc welding machines
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings
- Select proper welding parameters (voltage, current, travel speed)
- Align and secure metal components before welding
- Monitor weld quality and make adjustments as needed
- Inspect finished welds for defects and ensure they meet specifications
- Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment
- Follow safety standards and procedures at all times
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with submerged arc welding (SAW) techniques
- Ability to read blueprints and welding codes (like AWS standards)
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Knowledge of metallurgy and welding materials
- Physical stamina and ability to work in industrial environments
- Certification (e.g., AWS welding certification) is often required
