Express Employment is hiring an Engineer in Jackson, MS!
Job Responsibilities
- Plan, conduct, and oversee environmental assessments, site investigations, and remediation activities
- Collect and evaluate field data, including soil, groundwater, and other environmental samples
- Analyze analytical and survey data and interpret results
- Prepare technical reports, work plans, and regulatory submittals
- Work with project managers, clients, and regulators to keep projects on schedule and in compliance
- Support project budgeting, scheduling, and client communication
- Mentor junior staff as experience allows
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, or another environmental field (environmental science, hydrology, or similar)
- Experience in environmental consulting or a closely related field
- Strong technical writing and analytical skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a project team
- Willingness to perform field work and travel to project sites as needed
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional licensure or progress toward it (PE, PG, or EIT/GIT)
- Experience with Phase I/II environmental site assessments, remediation, or regulatory compliance
- Familiarity with Mississippi regulatory programs and agencies
- Working knowledge of environmental data tools, GIS, or database software
- Health and safety training (such as 40-hour HAZWOPER)
