Outside Sales Representative – Battery Company
Location: Starkville, MS
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
Compensation: $20/hour (during temp period) + Commission (upon permanent hire)
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Outside Sales Representative to support business growth for a battery distribution company. This role requires a highly organized and outgoing individual who is comfortable working in the field, building client relationships, and driving sales performance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, professionalism, and a commitment to punctuality.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers to grow sales revenue
- Conduct regular in-person sales visits using a company-provided vehicle
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate battery products and solutions
- Meet or exceed sales targets and performance goals
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, orders, and follow-ups
- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and timely delivery
Schedule
- Full-time, 9–10 hour shifts
- Typical hours: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation & Benefits
- $20/hour during temporary period
- Transition to commission-based incentives upon permanent hire
- Company vehicle provided for work-related travel
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of outside sales experience required
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
- Professional, outgoing personality with a strong customer focus
- Must be reliable, punctual, and committed to consistent attendance
