Express Employment Professionals is hiring a dependable and hardworking Float Attendant for a local client. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced retail environment, working with customers, and staying active throughout the day.
Wednesday – Saturday
9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
The Float Attendant will support a variety of daily retail operations, including cashiering, processing donations, pricing merchandise, and maintaining a clean and organized store. This role requires flexibility, strong customer service skills, and the ability to contribute to a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver excellent customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience
- Operate the point-of-sale system, including cash handling and reconciliation
- Receive, evaluate, and process donated items based on store needs
- Price donated merchandise and inventory according to guidelines
- Stock and organize merchandise on the sales floor
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store and facility
- Assist with basic facility maintenance and safe use of tools and equipment
- Support day-to-day operations while following safe and efficient retail practices
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Proven sales ability and customer engagement
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems
- Experience with cash handling and balancing
- Ability to assess and sort incoming donations
- Knowledge of basic tools, equipment, and facility upkeep preferred
- Reliable, team-oriented, and detail-focused
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform physical work, including:
- Lifting up to 50 lbs
- Standing, walking, bending, climbing, pushing, and pulling throughout the shift
- Comfortable working in a retail and donation-processing environment
