Express Employment Professionals is hiring on behalf of a reputable local client for a Skilled Laborer to join their construction team.
Location: Local job sites
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Position Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Skilled Laborer to support carpenters and construction crews on a variety of projects. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience who enjoys working outdoors and contributing to high-quality craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist carpenters with:
- Wood framing, siding installation, doors, cabinetry, and finish work
- Perform general labor duties:
- Material handling, staging, organizing, and job site cleanup
- Support site preparation:
- Excavation, snow removal, and landscaping tasks
- Spread, shovel, and level materials (dirt, gravel, fill, etc.)
- Assist with light scaffolding setup and teardown
- Assemble construction materials and finishes
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites and surrounding areas
- Work safely around equipment, chemicals, and active construction environments
Qualifications & Skills
- Basic construction and general labor experience preferred
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools
- Strong material handling and job site organization skills
- Ability to follow directions and adapt quickly to new tasks
- Understanding of job site safety practices

- Complete assigned tasks efficiently with minimal supervision
- Ensure materials are properly handled and staged
- Provide consistent, reliable support to carpenters and skilled trades

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry 30+ lbs regularly
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive movements
- Comfortable working at heights (ladders and scaffolding)
- Good hand and finger dexterity
Tools & Equipment Used
- Hand tools (hammer, tape measure, level, etc.)
- Power tools (drills, saws, screw guns, etc.)
- Shovels, rakes, and landscaping tools
- Light scaffolding equipment
- Work performed near heavy equipment and cranes
