Part-Time Office/Maintenance Assistant

Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time Office/Maintenance Employee to join our team. This role combines customer service, office administration, and facility maintenance duties. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.

Schedule

• Part-time: 2–3 days per week (8-hour shifts)
• Additional hours may be available to cover employee absences
• Business hours: Monday–Saturday, 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM
• Employees must be on-site and ready to assist customers for the full shift

Key Responsibilities

Office Duties

• Answer incoming phone calls and provide excellent customer service
• Process payments and manage customer accounts
• File documents and maintain organized records
• Assist with renting units and processing move-outs
• Perform general office cleaning and upkeep

Maintenance & Outdoor Duties

• Clean and prepare vacant units
• Maintain cleanliness of the entire facility (trash removal, upkeep)
• Sweep and perform general grounds maintenance
• Maintain flower beds and outdoor pots
• Shovel snow and salt walkways during winter months
• Pick up trash in adjacent vacant lot and along frontage road

Note: Management may assign additional duties as needed.

Requirements

Office & Technical Skills

• Basic office and administrative experience
• Strong phone and customer service skills
• Computer proficiency, including:
  • Typing
  • Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Email communication

Equipment

• Reliable transportation
• Cell phone
• Appropriate clothing for summer and winter conditions
• Suitable footwear for indoor/outdoor work

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk up to 3 miles consistently
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Frequent bending, lifting, and repetitive movement
• Comfortable working in dusty environments and around pollen
