Personal Banker
Express Employment Professionals is hiring on behalf of a trusted local client.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay: $19–$22/hour DOE
Position Summary
Our client is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Personal Banker to join their team. This role is responsible for originating and servicing a variety of consumer loan products while delivering exceptional service to clients in person, over the phone, and through digital channels.
The ideal candidate will build strong relationships with customers, identify financial needs, and recommend appropriate banking solutions—all while supporting the organization’s mission and core values.
Key Responsibilities
Lending & Financial Services
- Analyze customer needs, assess risk, and structure consumer loans (including Consumer Loans, Rapid Reserve, and Credit Cards)
- Review and process loan applications, ensuring proper approval/denial procedures are followed
- Analyze financial and credit data to make informed lending decisions
- Present loans exceeding lending limits to appropriate authority for approval
- Ensure compliance with all lending regulations and proper lien filing
- Assist with collections, including delinquent accounts and NSF balances as authorized
Customer Service & Relationship Building
- Provide exceptional service to customers and internal team members
- Build and maintain relationships to identify opportunities for additional services
- Participate in community outreach and the Bank’s Call Program to grow business
- Refer customers to other departments for specialized services
Account Services & Operations
- Open, maintain, and close deposit accounts for consumer and business clients
- Assist with CDs, HSAs, IRAs, and other account types
- Support customers with online/mobile banking and digital tools
- Issue debit cards and resolve disputes or inquiries
- Handle routine account maintenance, including address changes and stop payments
- Assist with safe deposit boxes and general account servicing
- Maintain accurate documentation and electronic filing
Compliance & Quality Control
- Ensure adherence to all bank policies and regulatory requirements (BSA, Patriot Act, OFAC, etc.)
- Maintain complete and compliant loan and account documentation
- Provide quality control feedback on credit files
- Meet performance goals and lending guidelines
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of customer service experience required
- Banking, teller, or new account experience preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field preferred
- Must be bondable
- Strong computer skills, including 10-key proficiency
Work Environment
- Professional office setting
- Primarily sedentary with occasional lifting up to 30 pounds
