Buyer

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Buyer for a local manufacturing company. We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with strong communication and organizational skills to support purchasing and supply chain operations. This position plays a key role in sourcing materials, managing vendor relationships, tracking purchase orders, and ensuring products are received on time and within budget.

Pay: $23.00-$25.00/hour
Schedule: Full-Time

Job Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, reliability, availability, and delivery performance
• Purchase materials and products that meet company specifications and delivery requirements
• Create, process, and track purchase orders
• Monitor shipments and resolve issues related to delays or undelivered goods
• Maintain purchase order tracking systems and update order statuses
• Communicate with vendors regarding orders, documentation, and product information
• Process returns and assist with resolving product quality concerns
• Collaborate with Finance to ensure timely processing and closure of purchase orders
• Maintain daily updates to materials planning and inventory information
• Work closely with warehouse, supply chain, and production teams to support operational needs
• Assist with additional purchasing and supply chain duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of purchasing or buying experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with business software systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to build and maintain positive vendor relationships

Physical Requirements

• Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, and move throughout warehouse and production areas
• Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds
• Ability to work in both office and warehouse environments
