Snow Equipment Operator
Pay: $30 per hour
Location: Corning NY
Schedule: On call
Overview
We are looking for a snow equipment operator who can keep properties safe and accessible during winter weather. This position requires steady judgment, strong equipment skills, and a commitment to reliable service in challenging conditions.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate snow-removal equipment including plow trucks, wheel loaders, skid steers, backhoes, snow blowers, and salt spreaders
• Clear snow and ice from parking lots, driveways, sidewalks, roadways and other assigned areas
• Apply de-icing materials such as salt, sand, or brine and monitor usage for efficiency
• Follow route maps, service schedules and instructions with accuracy
• Inspect equipment before, during, and after use and report issues right away
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Work extended or irregular hours during snow events, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Communicate with supervisors and team members to adjust to changing conditions
• Assist with equipment maintenance, fueling, and cleaning when needed
Qualifications
• Previous experience operating heavy machinery or snow-removal equipment preferred
• Valid driver’s license, with CDL preferred for certain equipment or locations
• Reliable transportation and the ability to report on short notice
• Ability to work in extreme winter weather and perform physical tasks as required
