Job Description:
A local manufacturing company in Watkins Glen, NY is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Operator to join their team. This position is responsible for machine setup, operation, inspection, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance in a production environment.
Responsibilities:
- Set up tools, fixtures, and raw materials on CNC lathes
- Load CNC programs and set work coordinates/tool offsets
- Monitor machining operations and make adjustments as needed
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools
- Ensure parts meet quality standards and tolerances
- Perform routine machine maintenance and tool changes
- Troubleshoot machining or equipment issues
- Follow all shop safety procedures and guidelines
Requirements:
- Knowledge of G-code and CNC controls
- Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings
- Familiarity with tolerances, surface finishes, and GD&T
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Basic math and trigonometry skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
