CNC Plasma Table Operator

Location: Watkins Glen, NY
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $18–$20 per hour, depending on experience

We are looking for a CNC Plasma Table Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing or fabrication experience and be comfortable reading blueprints, operating machinery, and working with steel and sheet metal.

Responsibilities:

Set up and operate CNC plasma cutting equipment according to production schedules and work instructions
Load and unload steel plate, sheet metal, and structural materials using forklifts, cranes, or other approved lifting equipment
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and cut files
Verify material type, thickness, and dimensions before processing
Load machine programs and confirm proper machine setup before production
Monitor cutting operations to ensure accuracy and consistent quality
Inspect completed parts using tape measures, calipers, squares, and other measuring tools
Remove slag, clean parts, and prepare components for fabrication or welding
Identify quality issues and report nonconforming materials or production concerns
Perform routine preventative maintenance, including replacing consumables and cleaning equipment
Maintain accurate production records
Assist other fabrication and manufacturing departments as needed
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Follow company safety policies and OSHA regulations

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous manufacturing or fabrication experience
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
Basic computer skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Experience:

CNC plasma cutting experience
Experience with Hypertherm, Burny, Messer, or similar CNC control systems
Forklift and/or overhead crane experience
Experience working with structural steel or sheet metal fabrication
