Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals of Ithaca NY and our Specialized Recruiting Group, are currently recruiting for an Environmental, Health, Safety and Project Management staff member for a busy manufacturing client in the Ithaca/Cortland area. This important role involves ensuring workplace safety, driving quality improvements, and managing facility-related projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety compliance, quality system, and project execution with a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Environmental, Health and Safety:
- Develop and enforce safety policies and programs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other regulations
- Investigate workplace incidents and recommend preventive measures
- Conduct safety inspections, training, and emergency drills
- Analyze data to improve workplace safety and health
- Act as the Company Safety Officer and lead the safety committee
Quality Assurance (QA):
- Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to ensure product standards
- Develop and deliver QA training programs
- Analyze data to drive process improvements and reduce failure costs
- Perform audits, root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions
- Support the organization in achieving quality goals and improving efficiency
Project Management:
- Plan, execute, and oversee facility-related projects
- Manage timelines, budgets, and external contractors
- Ensure compliance with building and safety codes
- Conduct inspections and maintain project documentation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental health, safety, construction, and facility operations within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of occupational health, safety, and environmental compliance
- Experience with quality management systems, root cause analysis, and process improvement
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and excellent communication skills
- Leadership skills and a proactive approach to safety and quality improvement
