Press Operator – 2nd Shift
Job Type: Full-time with benefits
Schedule: 2:30 PM–11:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch break
Pay: $20–$25+ per hour, based on experience, plus shift differential
Training: Training takes place on 1st shift until the employee can operate independently.
We are seeking Press Operators to join an established label manufacturer on 2nd shift. Experienced printing professionals and mechanically inclined candidates interested in learning a skilled trade are encouraged to apply. Training and opportunities for advancement are available.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate 10-inch-wide, narrow-web flexographic presses ranging from 6 to 10 colors.
- Mount printing plates on cylinders and prepare presses for production.
- Mix inks to achieve specific color matches.
- Make precise press adjustments to produce labels that meet customer specifications.
- Monitor print quality and troubleshoot printing or equipment issues.
- Communicate effectively with team members to support production.
Requirements
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Basic math skills, including the use of a calculator.
- Ability to read a ruler marked in inches.
- Good communication skills.
- Availability to train on 1st shift before transitioning to 2nd shift.
- Printing or machine experience is a plus, but is not required.
Starting Pay
- No printing experience: $20 per hour.
- Printing experience outside flexographic printing: $22 per hour.
- Flexographic printing experience: $25+ per hour.
