The opportunity for you:

We are seeking a UL–891 Panel Assembler to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing electrical switchgear and control panels that comply with UL 891 standards, which outline safety and performance requirements for dead-front switchboards. This role involves interpreting blueprints and electrical diagrams and using various tools to ensure high-quality and compliant assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assembly & Wiring: Assemble electrical switchboards including enclosures, busbars, circuit breakers, and other components in accordance with UL 891 specifications and engineering drawings.

  2. Blueprint & Schematic Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints and wiring diagrams.

  3. Testing & Quality Assurance: Perform routine testing on completed panels to verify electrical and mechanical integrity, ensuring compliance with UL 891 standards. Document and troubleshoot issues as needed.

  4. Tool & Equipment Handling: Use a variety of hand and power tools to assemble and install components while adhering to safety and quality guidelines.

  5. Compliance: Ensure all work aligns with company procedures, UL 891 standards, and all relevant safety regulations.

  6. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of assembly processes, tests, and inspections to ensure traceability and compliance with quality requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of UL 891 standards and electrical switchgear assembly.

  • Experience: Prior experience in electrical assembly, particularly with switchboards or similar systems.

  • Skills: Ability to read and interpret schematics; excellent attention to detail; strong manual dexterity.

  • Safety: Knowledge of OSHA regulations and dedication to maintaining a safe work environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift heavy objects.

  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, manufacturing environment.
