Customer Service Representative
Job Description
The customer service representative is responsible for processing orders received by mail, telephone, fax or e-mail. Provide customer support and information in response to inquiries, concerns and requests about an order or product.
Duties
- Processing orders, including changes to ensure accuracy.
- Update customer records accordingly
- Processing payments
- Customer portal management and invoicing
- Issuing return authorizations for a product issue
- Organize shipments, including international shipments and necessary documentation, ASN’s
- Coordinate with production management for product delivery
- Manage blanket agreements
- Cross trains in all areas of the office
- Coordinate pricing updates as necessary for customer orders
- Other duties as required
Experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, proficiency in Outlook. Knowledge of Excel, EDI orders, JIT reporting and AS400.
- Experience using SAP or ERP type system, including retrieving purchase orders and confirmations. Submitting ASN’s and changes.
- Communicates well with shipping, production, and inspection departments.
- Must be an organized individual with a sense of urgency.
- Prompt follow up with customers.
- 1 to 3 years of customer service experience.
- Experience with shipping, logistics, coordinating with customers to set up shipments.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain a high volume of e-mails and phone calls.
