3rd Shift | $16.50/hour
Express Employment Professionals Cincinnati East is now hiring packers for a fulfillment center in Newtown, OH. This is a standing position, requiring repetitive lifting up to 35 pounds. The packer will be packaging nails, screws, and related components into boxes for shipping. The packer should ideally have previous packaging or production experience.
Core Functions:
· Under the direction of the area supervisor, move materials into production areas using hand trucks, stack and seal cartons and boxes.
· Must know fasteners by product code and necessary markings to check cartons and boxes for accuracy/correctness.
· Promptly and properly records production count.
· Carry, either by hand or cart, empty cartons up to the production area.
· Load empty cartons in the auto-pack carton rack.
· Accurately stamp cartons with the operator's number.
· Accurately count and record production. Inspect finished production for visual defects (full carton, correct carton label, correct bar code label, etc.).
· Visually inspect each carton before they're sealed to ensure the carton is full.
· Do other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
· Must be organized and able to keep accurate records of production count and materials moved.
· Must work well in a team environment.
· Must have the ability to work with little supervision.
· Must be able to inspect fasteners before placing in complete box.
· Must have proficient math skills and be able to read, write, add, and subtract.
· Must be able to operate a forklift, lift truck, electric dolly, chain hoist, stampers, and hand tape-sealer.
· Must have above average manual dexterity.
· 100% of the time, must be able to lift, stoop, bend, walk, pull, and carry +/- 75 pounds.
· Determined by area, might be required to stand 100% of the time throughout their shift.
· Must be able to withstand continuous exposure to disagreeable noise, dirt, and fumes within the OSHA allowance.
· Must be comfortable working in an environment where there is possible exposure to lost-time accidents, including but not limited to the hands, arms, feet, or back.
Schedule: 3rd Shift, Mon-Fri 12:00am - 8:00am
Pay: $16.50/hour
