Senior Cost Accountant

Location: Fairfield, OH

Industry: Manufacturing

Compensation: $100-110K

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update standard costs for products, raw materials, freight, duties, and labor.
• Analyze and reconcile actual vs. standard costs and identify key drivers of variances.
• Partner with manufacturing personnel to improve yield, efficiency, and reduce costs.
• Provide clear financial variance reports comparing current performance to budget and prior periods.
• Collaborate with operations, sales, engineering, and other departments to support data-driven decision-making.
• Monitor cost trends, cost absorption, margin performance, and overhead expenses.
• Assist the Finance Manager in cost control efforts and cost-efficiency initiatives.
• Report on manufacturing variances, scrap, waste, and inventory valuation.
• Prepare and compile annual manufacturing budgets and review standard costs.
• Synthesize data into clear, actionable insights for senior management.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as required to support the success of the business unit.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree is required 
• Previous experience in Cost Accounting is required 
• Previous experience in the Manufacturing Industry is required 
• Proven experience with month-end closing processes.
• CPA or CMA certification completed or in progress (preferred).
• Experience with standard costing system implementation (preferred).
• Experience working with ERP systems; IFS experience strongly preferred.
