Position: Certified Welding Inspector
Industry: Aerospace
Compensation: $26-$30/hr +
Shift: 1st
Location: Eastgate, OH
Requirements:

Minimum 5+ years of welding and inspection experience or equivalent training

Valid Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification from AWS; ability to maintain certification through continuing education

Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and welding specifications

Excellent communication and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office; AWS code endorsements preferred (D1.1, D1.2, D1.3, D1.6)
Responsibilities:

Perform internal and external inspections to ensure weldments meet applicable codes, standards, drawings, and contract requirements

Interpret welding codes and specifications; document and report acceptance or rejection of weld quality, including proper handling of nonconforming parts

Approve and recommend repairs, enforce compliance by stopping work when standards are not met, and ensure adherence to quality and safety guidelines

Maintain records of welder qualifications, WPS certifications, and inspection data; support process improvements and assist in training production welders
