Metallurgical Technician -Contract
Location: Loveland, OH
Pay: $30-$36/hr
Shift: 1st
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Metallurgical Technician to support metallurgical testing and analysis of additively manufactured (3D-printed) metals and aerospace components. This role involves sample preparation, material testing, microscopic examination, and laboratory support to ensure quality and accuracy in material validation.
Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in science, engineering, or a related technical field preferred.

2+ years of laboratory experience through education or industry preferred.

Experience with metallographic sample preparation, laboratory equipment, and material testing preferred.

Familiarity with optical and scanning electron microscopes, metallic powders, and aerospace materials is a plus.

Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently or collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

U.S. Citizenship required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
Job Responsibilities

Prepare metallic samples for metallurgical examination through sectioning, mounting, polishing, etching, and imaging.

Operate optical and scanning electron microscopes to analyze metallic samples and material properties.

Conduct metallic powder testing, hardness testing, microhardness testing, and material analysis.

Collect, document, and analyze test results while preparing accurate technical reports.

Maintain laboratory equipment, manage consumable inventory, and support procurement of necessary supplies.

Develop and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance laboratory efficiency, quality, and safety.

Support the Materials and Processes Department with testing, validation, and additional manufacturing activities while maintaining safe laboratory practices.
