Sr. Staff Accountant -Contract
Location: Cincinnati, Oh
Pay: $35/hr
Job Type: Remote
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, hands-on experience with QuickBooks, and the ability to manage reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end closing processes.
Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar accounting role.

Proficiency in QuickBooks, including data entry, reporting, and account management.

Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entries.

Experience with account reconciliations and financial audits.

Ability to prepare and analyze profit and loss (P&L) statements.

Experience with month-end closing and opening procedures.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records and perform daily accounting transactions using QuickBooks.

Prepare, review, and post journal entries to the general ledger.

Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

Assist with financial audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including profit and loss (P&L) reports.

Manage month-end closing and opening processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Monitor general ledger accounts, identify discrepancies, and make necessary adjustments.
