Express Employment Professional is searching for a Fulltime Paint Booth Technician.
This is an opportunity to develop your skills as a painter on a variety of custom architectural props and sign components.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop knowledge of all tools and equipment used in paint dept. such as conventional gravity fed guns, pressure pot sprayer, and airless sprayer. All guns will be disassembled and cleaned thoroughly after the completion of each individual application. Booth filters and desiccant to be changed regularly and floor resurfaced as needed.
-Assessing and assisting fabrication team with proper surface preparation. Substrates needing prepared for finish work include but are not limited to PVC, MDF, ACM, Wood, Acrylic, Aluminum, Steel, Polyurethane foam, EPS foam and cast materials such as epoxy or resin. Surface preparation includes sanding product with appropriate grit paper, occasional Bondo work or spot filling, buffing primer in between coats and ensuring product is dust free before moving on to additional steps.
.- Executing the application of a wide range of coatings including water based, lacquer based, and urethane primers, base coats, finish coats, and clear coats. Experience with Mathews paint mixing system preferred.
-Must be flexible to shoot a range of shapes and sizes anywhere from 1” logos or dimensional letters to 5’ x 10’ sheet materials.
-Maintaining a clean and professional workspace to ensure maximum efficiency.
-Must be willing to work occasional overtime and/or weekends as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must have previous paint booth, hand painting or custom fabrication experience.
-Candidate must be a self-starter who is ready and willing to enthusiastically follow directions and stay on task. Ideally looking at someone who has plenty of capacity to learn and grow professionally with no fear of asking questions when in doubt.
-Must be able to work in a very physical and fast paced environment with the ability to lift to 50 pounds and be on your feet all day.
-Personal protective equipment is provided and employees will be required to utilize it. For example, a respirator will be required while painting and a dust mask while sanding, etc.
-It will be crucial that the applicant is a team player with a positive attitude. This necessity is amplified in the face of occasional challenging projects where additional problem solving, and patience are needed.
