Grounds Technician / Landscaper / Grounds Keeper
Location: Columbus, OH Pay: $20/hour Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts | On-call & Overtime Available Company Vehicle Provided
Position Overview:
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a reliable and motivated Grounds Technician / Landscaper / Grounds Keeper to join our client’s property maintenance team in Columbus, OH. In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the building premises and grounds in a clean, attractive, and safe condition through a variety of landscaping, general maintenance, and exterior upkeep tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Landscaping & Grounds Maintenance:
· Trim shrubs, hedges, and trees to maintain clean aesthetics
· Apply mulch, remove weeds, and plant vegetation, flowers, and grass
· Mow, trim, and blow lawns and landscaped areas
· Remove leaves, debris, and trash from grounds, walkways, lawns, parking lots, and trash containers
· Apply herbicides as needed in accordance with safety guidelines
· Participate in planning, building, and maintaining flower beds and landscape features
Exterior Maintenance:
· Perform general painting and pavement repairs (sealing and patching)
· Maintain and repair fences
· Pressure wash building exteriors and hard surfaces
· Assist with general cleaning and upkeep of building exteriors
Support & General Maintenance:
· Assist the maintenance team with general maintenance needs
· Complete unit punch-outs, trash-outs, and basic repairs
· Maintain accurate receipts and track expenses related to projects and work orders
· Ensure all work complies with company standards, safety protocols, and local regulations
Team & Customer Engagement:
· Provide a professional, positive, and courteous attitude when interacting with residents, coworkers, and vendors
· Represent the company and property in a respectful and customer-friendly manner at all times
Requirements:
· Prior landscaping or groundskeeping experience preferred
· Ability to operate landscaping tools and equipment safely
· Basic maintenance and repair skills
· Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
· Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
· Valid driver's license (required for company vehicle use)
· Availability for on-call and overtime work when necessary
