Maintains the cleanliness and safety of school facilities, performing tasks like cleaning, disinfecting, and minor repairs. They ensure a sanitary and secure environment for students and staff. Duties include cleaning floors, restrooms, and common areas, emptying trash, and maintaining equipment. Custodians also handle spills, report safety hazards, and may assist with setting up for school events.
- Cleaning: Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and other areas.
- Restroom Maintenance: Cleaning and restocking restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors.
- Waste Management: Emptying trash receptacles and ensuring proper disposal of waste.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintaining and cleaning cleaning equipment and tools.
- Minor Repairs: Addressing minor maintenance issues like replacing light bulbs or fixing leaky faucets.
- Safety: Ensuring a safe environment by addressing spills, hazards, and reporting safety concerns.
- Event Setup/Cleanup: Assisting with setting up and taking down furniture and equipment for school events.
- Inventory: Maintaining stock of cleaning supplies.
- Securing Facilities: Locking doors and windows, and ensuring the building is secure at the end of the day.
