Job Full Description
Job Summary: The Facilities Custodian will be in charge of keeping the workplace clean, organized, safe and disinfected.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Follow all safety rules and regulations, all work must be done thinking “Safety First.”
- Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties in the common areas of the building.
- Performs general, routine custodial duties, to include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies.
- Cleaning, maintaining, stocking and sanitizing restrooms and break rooms (including microwave and coffee machine overflow).
- Weekly cleaning of refrigerator (light wipe down inside/out) removing unmarked food each Friday.
- Inform Office. Admin./Facilities coordinator of all janitorial items to be ordered.
- Ensures heating and cooling systems are operational. Communicate issues with Office Admin./Facilities Coord. and/or Facilities Lead for vendor scheduling.
- Keep inventory of all janitorial products.
- Maintains a neat and orderly supply room; ensuring cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.
- May provide vendors with access to areas for cleaning and may answer basic questions. May report issues with vendors to supervisor.
- May assist or perform snow removal activities and minor maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs, adjusting furniture, or other similar activities.
- Able to operate floor scrubbers and other cleaning equipment.
- During any global or local pandemics, increase cleaning of all common areas (doorknobs, microwave, refrigerator, all other) to hourly wipe downs.
- Wash/clean all windows on a routine basis.
- Vacuum/mop all floors on a routine basis.
- Dust all surfaces on a routine basis.
- Empty trash receptacles dispose trash into compactors and/or dumpsters, and bags trash for proper disposal.
- Performs cleaning functions specific to the assigned facilities and/or based on seasonal/project requirements.
- For all on -site positions, must show up to work to perform job duties.
- Good communication skills.

- Get along with others, not creating an offensive or hostile work environment.
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds and 41+ pounds as a two-person lift.

- Potential travel to pick up supplies on rare occasions if issues with delivery.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 2-3 years’ experience and/or combined relative experience.
