Job Full Description
Position Overview:
The Machinist will set up and operate a variety of manual and CNC machines to manufacture and repair metallic and nonmetallic parts. You’ll work from blueprints, sketches, and specifications, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop math, metal properties, and machining procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Level I:
-
Read and interpret blueprints and basic GD&T.
-
Assist in machine setups.

Create CNC programs for new or repaired parts.
-
Operate common manual and CNC machines (drill press, mill, lathe).

Use precision measuring tools with minimal assistance.
Level II:
-
Fully interpret complex blueprints, sketches, and GD&T.
-
Create CNC programs and machine processes for parts and repairs.
-
Operate and set up manual/CNC machines such as vertical turret lathes and horizontal boring machines.

Initiate machining tip sheets and fabricate/repair parts or basic tooling.
Level III:
-
Lead in complex setups (3, 4, and 5 axis machines).

Develop and document new setups as required.
-
Perform complex machining operations and aviation part repairs.
-
Manufacture or fabricate tooling as needed.

Mentor and train junior machinists.
What We’re Looking For:
Level I:
-
High school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license.
-
1–2 years machining/programming experience preferred.
-
Basic understanding of GD&T and CAM software (Mastercam preferred).
Level II:
-
High school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license.
-
3–5 years machining/programming experience preferred.
-
Strong knowledge of GD&T and precision measuring tools.
Level III:
-
High school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license.
-
5+ years machining, setup, and programming experience preferred.

Advanced CNC/multi-axis setup skills and deep GD&T expertise.
