The Senior Buyer is responsible for acquiring materials and parts, managing vendors, and coordinating inventory control efforts. This role oversees returns to vendors and purchases non-inventory goods needed for business use. The salary range is $75K-$85K!

Create and maintain valid purchase orders for parts and materials.

Negotiate vendor delivery times and costing strategies.

Review purchase order claims and contracts for compliance with company policies.

Assist the Materials Manager in resolving inventory discrepancies.

Verify specifications of purchase requests.

Release materials against purchase orders to ensure proper supply.

Consult with suppliers prior to expected delivery dates to confirm on-time arrival.

Expedite overdue vendor purchase orders.

Draft and distribute RFQs (Request for Quotes) to suppliers when necessary.

Develop vendor relationships, diversify sources, and establish processes and procedures to optimize cost savings and delivery times.

Track and report key department metrics as needed.

Generate purchasing reports as required.

Obtain RMAs from vendors and coordinate returns with the shipping department.
